Haxby Memorial Hall - Front View

Haxby Memorial Hall was created out of the former Hall Old School, built in 1876. In 1954 the school closed, and the site was bought by the then Haxby Parish Council, who converted it into a village hall.

In 1977 the hall was refurbished, extended, and became a charitable trust. It is in located in a conservation area.

The Trustees of Haxby Memorial Hall Trust meet regularly and are committed to updating and redeveloping the facility to offer more flexibility to the local community and fulfil all their current and future needs. A public consultation was held in 2008/09 asking the residents what they wanted to happen to the hall in the future. The result was that 69% wanted to retain and extend the hall, so the trustees are currently developing plans to refurbish the historic frontage and extend to the rear of the main hall.
